hi everyone

i am 36 ,pregnant with my second child

During my first pregnancy i used standard INF .It was very normal experience with healthy outcomes. After giving birth I switched to pegasys due to fewer side effects .I am coping well with it and everything is normal in my blood test

Now i am 2 months pregnant again and I don’t know if pegasys is safe during pregnancy as standard form of INF

Should I switch to standard form of INF or it is safe to continue pegasys

There is little information about this disease in my country and hematologists follow general protocols not any especial experiences

Thank u for your help guys💚

The interferons (e.g., Pegasys) are considered safer during pregnancy than other cytoreduction options. You can find this information in several places, including the MPN Voice website. mpnvoice.org.uk/living-with...

The decision about whether to continue Pegasys during pregnancy is one that needs to be made on a case by case basis. Like all of the decisions we make, we have to weigh the risks and benefits. Your prior positive experience with IFN during pregnancy is a factor worth considering.

Not sure what country you are from. Hopefully you can find a way to consult with a MPN Specialist at least once during your pregnancy.

Wishing you and your growing family all the best.

You really should consult your doctors about this but I have heard of other people using Pegasys while pregnant and without any issues.

If you tolerated regular interferon ok before that’s a good sign as the main ingredient of Pegasys is no different.
