Grounding as an aid to PV management

Hi I am interesting where possible to aid my PV journey with holistic methods where at all possible - one further aid I have recently read about is the use of grounding mats/sheets - which carry an earth charge to neutralise the electric charge on neutrophils, which for many of us of course are many many (!) - and reduce inflammation in the body and inc blood flow. I have ordered a sheet for sleeping and will let you know how I get along. (there are many clinical studies to demonstrate their effects on the body) I wonder has any one else any positive experiences to share. For anyone interested I was inspired by listening to Clint Ober speaking about his lifelong findings on grounding/earthing and its effects on many chronic diseases for which inflammation is a key aspect. I'll be very interested to hear how you get on with it .Don't know much about the mats so will listen to C Ober later.

Hi

One of the best things you can do to reduce inflammation is to eat a low inflammatory diet. Also you should try and get regular exercise. Yoga has also been found to be good for MPN patients. This was shown by Dr Mesa. None is as simple as a grounding mats but all have proven effective in MPNS & are holistic. Good luck. Katie

Hi Katie - Thanks for your reply - I have the exercise box well and truly ticked as walk for miles daily with my dog and also have a personal trainer, yoga, dance... and wild water swims, when I can get to the coast - but I will look closer at the anti inflam diet to see if there are any further adjustments that I can make there - thank you for the reminder, as I know a lot of us follow that diet with success and it makes sense - I also take a regular omega oil supp as this is good for the fluidity of the red blood corpuscles, resisting clotting, as well as reducing inflamm, thank you so much Katie for your share, and wishing you too all the best in your own health journey too - blessings x

Roxanne22, thank you for sharing.I personally was able to slightly improve my blood results by doing intermediate fasting and replacing carbs with fats. But for unknown reason I was developing very bad headaches and after a month I gave up. I attempted twice.

I'm PV jak2 positive.

That's interesting I have worked with ayurvedic principles in the past for my diet in accordance to my body type and blood group and indeed low carbs suits me, and also makes me feel better irrespective of my blood disorder - as part of the ayurveda, dinner is earlier and breakfast later, so I don't usually eat until mid morning - although I take cacao as a plant medicine many (not all) days as this has many phytonutrients inc plant haem, and has improved my mood and nervous energy no end. Thank you for sharing. I am interested to learn of various lifestyle approaches as I believe we can help ourselves to be the best that we can be, even with peculiar mutations! Thank you for your reply. Perhaps I got bad headaches as I stopped taking blood thinners. I just felt so good I thought I don't need them.I may try high fat low carb diet again as I hear from many sources it works well for others. Cacao indeed is great, I am having it every day as source of magnesium etc :)

I have earth sheet on my chair and bed, and have tried many many of the natural approaches. Doing all these things probably won’t do any harm but don’t rely on them or assume they are going to work, I don’t think any of it made any difference to me, certainly not to my counts. Good healthy practices such as healthy food, exercise, avoiding toxins etc are good advice for anyone.

Well, I would say that life's energy IS science based. But I shared the article to provide balance.

I've nothing against complementary approaches - I have benefitted from reflexology although that may have been psychological.

There are many reports on grounding, one sample:

"Grounding reduces pain and alters the numbers of circulating neutrophils and lymphocytes, and also affects various circulating chemical factors related to inflammation."

WBCs are noted explicitly. Usually in uncontrolled PV neut are high while lymph can get too low when bloods are controlled on IFN for example. So if grounding really changes these the regular CBCs will show it.

I may try the pillow case version, seems the easiest in actual use and inexpensive.

Hi everyone thank you for sharing your views and thoughts about the grounding sheet - I appreciate that some of these ideas sound 'far out there' and I also recognise that each of us is unique, for example some may already be pretty well grounded and others (possibly myself) not so! My sheet arrived today, so I will share how I feel about it in a few weeks time.

Also on the subject of itching, I too have an intense bout of itching particularly after showers or sea swims - so my solution is two fold.

Firstly (not appropriate always for sea bathing) but at home in shower BEFORE enter shower, massage body with a natural organic body oil, such as a sesame or almond blended oil, some come ready made with essential oils for example by Tisserand or other natural health brands. It's important to do this before bathing, or shower not after as you may ordinarily think.

Another tip - only use organic, natural bath and shower products, it really does make an acute difference - eg had some Crabtree Evelyn gifted to me, looked and smelt divine, but goodness me, soon gave it away to a less sensitive being!! the itch was super intense afterwards.

And secondly, which really helps me, a pill of homeopathy treatment called 'Hystamine 12M' will alleviate the itch almost immediately, you pop one pill either before bath/shower or immed afterwards to stop it - so I know that some of you maybe think that homeopathy is 'non scientific' and true enough, it proves that science cannot explain all healing - believe me if your everyday hygiene is thwarted by feeling that you have been beaten with nettles, as I did, then it is worth a go isn't it!?

Out of interest, and a point to be mindful of, I have discussed several alterative options with Prof Harrison and have found her to be very open, curious and interested about any tips that will help us to make our health journeys be more easeful.

I read about Clint Ober. Never heard of him before. I noticed he comes from another branch and all of a sudden he is selling grounding mats. I can’t make heads or tails of what exactly thea mats and linens do?? Also pillow cases. This is too commercialized for my taste.

My mother-in-law could read the earths energies l with her divining rod, which she cut from a lilac tree, which bend easily. She found all the bad energy sources is in our home after my husband had cancer. It had been 10 years since she had last tested and we were not sleeping in another room. she found that he was sleeping on the junction of three different waterways deep under the ground. These waterways create friction and energies shoot straight up toward the sky. I don’t know how far. We were an able to protect our sleeping area, by putting a copper wire around the bottom of the bed, tying it together and connected it to the grounding wire (in the electrical socket) that goes into the earth. Weeks later, she tested that area and there was absolutely no more negative energy.

she did the same thing with our apartment on the lake, surrounded by mountains. That apartment had 10 times more energy coming through the Earth, and it was much more dangerous and we were able to protect our home in the areas we used the most, (bed, sofa, eating area, writing desk).

We bought a similar mat to yours, which has silver threads moving through it, and also copper, and this was plugged into the socket. My mother-in-law tested it a month later and it had not eliminated any negative energy. We saw this in the ad. The divining rod was being pulled toward the floor just like two weeks prior. we spent €280 for nothing. It doesn’t mean that your mat doesn’t work.

he speaks about grounding and walking on the earth but his video shows people walking on dry earth, which does not ground anyone at all. As far as I have learned over the years , in order for us to take up and exchange energies from the earth, the earth should be damp or wet as in the morning when the dew is on the grass or after the rain or on the beach where the Sand is moist. These energies are also emitted by trees in the woods forests are an absolute spectacular place to become grounded therefore taking a walk or jogging in the forest a few times a week is extremely therapeutic! This has been proven over and over.

if you can walk or stand for 15 to 20 minutes on the earth a few mornings a week, that makes a huge difference in stress reduction, and positive energy production. He promises that diseases will be cured. I’ve been studying energy healing for a while. He cannot prove this is true nor anyone else. I am a strong believer in energy medicine, which will definitely will be one of the most important ways to heal people in the future, unless other interests will try to stomp it out.

at the moment, we have bought the Bemer mat and the other healing gadgets that go with it this is magnetic therapy that works on increasing blood flow to the capillaries. It is unbelievably good. We had our capillaries tested and we could see the blood flow changing after just eight minutes on the mat. When my blood pressure goes up the springs, my blood pressure down within five minutes without medication. Same with headaches same with knee pain. Same as tiredness it just goes away. It also relaxes me and helps me sleep immediately. Unfortunately I don’t use it every day because I’ve been traveling a lot. Starting in September. I will try to use it in the morning and in the evening as part of my routine.
