Phosphatidylserine is not one of the complementary health supplements that shows up on any of the interaction check apps that I use. It is important to be cautious with supplements. Anything that is biologically active enough to help you can also hurt you and interact with things. I do my own research when considering a supplement and consult with an Integrative/Functional Medicine doctor about any complementary health intervention and the potential for it to interact. I always let my MPN care team know what I am taking. I have had significant success using several supplements but never take their use for granted.
It is worth noting that many Western trained doctors are not familiar with the many supplements that are available. They are understandably reluctant to recommend something that is outside of their scope of practice. Supplements are not as well regulated as medications on the market and may not be as reliable in terms of quality. It is important to consult with a knowledgeable medical professional who can give you meaningful guidance when it comes to the use of complementary health interventions.
