Is the itching you re experiencing like having thrush under your skin and a blow torch on the top. In other words a burning type of itch? If so this is the horrid aquagenic pruritis associated with PV. Is it worse after contact with water?

I experienced AP in the beginning ( I ve had PV for 15 years) and the sadly the haematologists and nurses were clueless.

my AP was torso thighs back and neck. Never hands or feet.

I stopped doing everything that antagonised it - mainly bathing showering and swimming.

we have a bidet and I wipe my body with simple micellar water

have a look at Mpnvoice.org.uk - there’s a section on there re itching.

I think your haematologist is wrong.
