Homeopathy for itch

I’m very new here with a PV diagnosis. My symptoms are mild. (Some itching). As you know, any itching can be torturous though. I see a homeopath and was given Arsenicum album. So far it has worked for me. I’ve only had 1 night that it didn’t.

I tried the beta alanine that I’ve seen mentioned and my itching was multiplied X 1000!!! I understand it doesn’t work for everyone. Just know this is a possibility!

I have also started the Wim Hof breathing method and cold showers. It is also helping.

I’m grateful to be part of this community. All of your input has been so helpful to me. I hope this post might be of use to someone else. 😃

Great to hear a positive about homeopathy . When the prescription is accurate for the individual it can be very effective.

Hi Barbiebreath! It's interesting you were prescribed arsenic for itching caused by PV, as I recently came across an article mentioning the use of arsenic alongside interferon as a treatment option for PV (eradication of the JAK2V617F clone) - journals.lww.com/hemasphere... . This is by no means a call to action, just an observation.

Barbiebreath, research curcumin for your itch and for possible benefits for the PV. This link offers some. Curcumin by itself is tough to absorb. Look for Liposomal curcumin formulas or curcumin supplements with Biocurc as they offer higher absorption. Become familiar with each delivery system. Always consult with your health care professional before using any supplement.

How sure you are that all the itching went down due to homeopathy and not by chance? I try to understand if homeopathy clearly made the difference. I also follow homeopathy treatment, but i collect experiences!!!

Absolutely sure. I start itching about 9pm like clockwork. Earlier if I have sugar. I regularly take the homeopathy. I’ve only had to resort to Benadryl once.

So you think the improvement is moderate,or great? Also did your homeopathy doctor told you if this therapy can have an impact on PV?

My itching is mild to moderate. When I take it the itching dissipates. If it doesn’t go away completely I am to take it every 15 minutes up to 5 X - (I think) I’ve never had to take it more than twice. Trust me- this is amazing to me too. If it’s in my head… it’s still working. That’s all I can say.

My homeopath is not a “doctor” . She is actually a physical therapist. She has a stellar reputation and is a very scientific person. Not hippie lala .✌️I’m sure she has the maximum education in whatever is required to be a homeopath. She does know about the PV but has explained to me that homeopathy works on symptoms not actual diseases.

I initially made an appointment with her because I was at my wits end from losing my hair. (Still don’t know why I lost it.) This was also the reason I was at the “real” doctors so much when I was finally diagnosed with PV. I received ZERO help for the hair loss from them. I was told my thyroid was fine and I was just getting old. I was going bald and desperate. I had very little faith in homeopathy. I can send you pictures of my results. It’s been unbelievable.

Since then- and my PV dx- I’ve seen her for anxiety and the itching and we are currently working on GERD that I’ve had for 30 years.

The GERD fix has not been immediate but I am down to half a Prilosec everyday. Even this is a huge improvement.

I absolutely understand your questions and doubts. I am no expert. I went into every situation thinking it would NOT work. So far it’s helping me. 😀

Ok I got the pictures to go through on the thread. Did you see them? I was doing EVERYTHING in the world anyone even mentioned from rosemary supplements to Rogaine. She told me to STOP everything and only do the homeopathy. The results have been amazing. Even my eyelashes have filled out.

Wow! Is this a real result? Not just hairstyle trick????

No tricks and only 4 months.I have no reason to try and fool anyone. It is hard for people to believe, for sure. Even the people closest to me- but there is no doubt about the hair growth. I had been losing it steadily since 2017. Handfuls in the shower. Handfuls in my hairdressers hands. I had a ton of hair. A lions mane! So when I first started complaining no one could see it like I did. Eventually it was very evident. Unfortunately, I still don’t have the answer why. It was one of the main reasons I was pesting the life out of my doctors though. 4 different ones. They all ordered bloodwork and seemed only interested in my thyroid. It was always normal. I was finally sent to oncology/hematology - If not for all this bloodwork I may have never learned about my PV.

I am very happy when i read success stories of homeopathy. It gives me hope that has the power to change something... So no hair loss anymore? And regrowth?

Barbiebreath in reply toAneliv9

There is a hair loss protocol and a hair growth one. We did hair growth. She told me today to stop taking it because it looks good now. I hope it doesn’t fall out again. I saw where you had success with your enlarged spleen. I told her about it and told her I may need some help with that in the future. She said she had already had positive results with that! 1 person and 1 dog!! 😃 Now if they could only do something about this Jak2 mutation!
