Somatic Symptom Disorder is a real phenomenon. It can be difficult to distinguish from illnesses that leave the patient feeling that something is not right but are difficult to diagnose. Add to this mix that an anxiety disorder diagnosis is a common misdiagnosis in the female population.
None of us are in a position to assess what your situation is. It is good news that you are assessing whether your situation is physical or psychological. That kind of honesty will help you sort things out with your care team. Note that your PCP would not be the best source for an assessment for Somatic Symptom Disorder. That would be an assessment made by a behavioral health professional. The good news is that anxiety is something that can be effectively managed no matter what the cause is.
Wishing you all the best.

Sorry I posted the wrong one!!!
I have seen that article before. It is more verification of the impact that stress can have on platelet activity. Stress has many negative impacts on the body. Unmanaged stress is extremely destructive to the body and to the mind. That is why effective stress management is so important, particularly for people with chronic health conditions like MPNs.
it can be challenging working on how our mind / outlook on life , effects our body and physical symptoms.
It’s easier to say we have this or that illness and simply put ourselves in the hands of doctors.
If we can find some practise or technique that works for us the journey can be inspiring and worthwhile
Oh dear . Just wrote response . It disappeared.
Sorry not to be clear.
When our thoughts are gloomy this can effect our physical health. Which can seem out of our control.
We can control our minds .
Finding a technique that helps us stay content with how we are now , instead of wishing things were different is empowering.
Relying on the medical profession may make someone feel helpless/hopless
Those more eloquent than me help please if I'm still not clear !!
Okay, you made me think all serious this morning and then……could not help but laugh with your reply of whoops posted wrong one. Honestly all serious stuff we face but so appreciated that laugh!
