Morning

I am JAK 2 + PV I was on hydroxy for a number of years and I was advised that too much sun was not good, I was prescribed Vitamin D. When on holiday I have factor 50.

“Taking hydroxycarbamide for a long time can increase your risk of developing skin cancer. It is important to protect your skin by:

avoiding being out in the sun

using sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (at least SPF 30)”

Source macmillan.org.uk/cancer-inf...

Hope this helps

Thank you for the reply . I'm going Cyprus in July . I normally use a sun bed before I go so I don't burn when I'm there , but I don't use them all the time .

I always use sun screen and I'm not a sun worshipper. Im on peg interveron injection but my consultant did say to take a break from taking them when I go away , it doesn't say that peg increase the risk of skin cancer but probably be better if I don't use them anymore
