At last…started Peg last night! Took all your advice (thank you), and did the injection last thing, swallowed 2 paracetamol and headed for bed. Had a decent night’s sleep but feel pretty sick this morning! Luckily I’m not working at the moment so can take it easy for a few days. Thanks again for all your info and support, I have found it invaluable and know that whatever happens on this MPN journey that I can rely on your guys for quick, honest and sound support and feedback. 🌻

good luck try ginger biscuits and ginger ale help with sickness
hope the sickness goes away. It might be easier next injection as your body gets used to it. Don’t forget plenty of water. Let us know how you get on
Good luck, I'll be starting Peg next week! You're right, all the advice and different experiences from everyone is invaluable! Be lost without this group. Best wishes
I used to take my peg early evening so that it had more time to wear off. Just remember that the symptoms will diminish each time but can take a few months.
I am planning on asking about Pegasys in place of Hydroxyurea. Mai I ask what dosage you are starting on and frequency?
Thank you, Eileen
Wishing you success on this next stage of your journey.
Give the pegasys and your body time to adjust. It takes a few months but I stopped having any issues. If you have extra time in the morning after the shot, hang out in bed longer, or sleep in if possible. I took an arthritis Tylenol with the shot and if woozie I the morning I was told to take another one. Honestly I only took the morning after Tylenol 2 or 3 times and the night Tylenol for a few months.
After nine months no issues with injections but I did get a crazy itch from the drug. With my MPN specialist blessing I take quercetin twice a day with some oil ( bulletproof tea in morning and with a salad at supper) because it helps it work so much better. 🍻
Hi. I am now into my 3rd month on Pegasys from Hydroxyurea. And doing very well on it. Saw my MPN specialist today. Haemacrat 41. He is happy with this. Platelets and white blood cells reducing. Dose 45m cg weekly, sticking with this for another month he says as I am very well. I take my Peg early evening. Sometimes with or without paracetamol. Drinking plenty of water seems to be the "given". Remember, as Hunter says, we are all very different and react differently to different drugs. I am so glad I can tolerate Peg. Take care.
Well done & thanks for sharing.
As you’ll find-the more you take it, the more you get used any effects and the easier it becomes to manage.
