I tried the Anbesol and it barely touched the discomfort unfortunately. I’m hoping this ulcer just will kit ladt very long. I have some other suggestions to try in the meantime. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I tried over the counter stuff first but nothing helped. My hematologist prescribed Magic Mouthwash which is specially compounded by the pharmacist. It works great.

My dentist recommends AO ProVantage gel. I did find it helpful

I saw that toothpaste with laurel sulfate made mouth sores worse. It's hard to find them though. I use Jason coconut toothpaste and get it from Amazon. It seems to help.

L-lysine, an essential amino acid supplement that you can buy over- the-counter. When I was younger I used L-lysine to treat/prevent cold sores that were triggered by sun exposure. So when I started getting mouth ulcers on Hydroxyrea, I reached for my L-lysine. It worked! I take 1000 mg three times a day to treat active sore, then reduce to 500 mg day as preventative. Discussed with my hematologist, who approved.

I just dab on a tiny amount of rock salt. Really stings but seems to make them heal faster.

I know rinsing with salt water helps so that sort of makes sense to me.

I used a saline rinse. 4 tablespoons of baking soda dissolved in water

I find the vitamin Lysine to work well. My doctor did give me a topical treatment when it is very painful. It is a Lidocaine solution. I've used it once, dipping a Q-tip into it to apply and it did help. Namaste

I tried the Anbesol which also has lidocaine in it. I found when I used my finger to apply it I got only minimal relief then next day used a cotton swab to apply it and got better relief. It was not so bad today. I take my Hydrea tomorrow so probably will cause another ulcer again.

I use Peroxyl mouth rinse by Colgate. It is a Hydrogen peroxid. It sometime take two days to heal.

I found gargling with salt water or a strong Mouthwash.....but ultimately I came off HU due to the side effects

hi, I have found if I catch it early, a light mouth wash of listening has helped really well for me. 😀

Peroxide (diluted) as a mouthwash. Has added advantage of killing anerobic bacteria lurking between teeth. Dentist approves

do you rinse afterwards with water or is it ok to leave it?

I find a small mouthful of colloidal silver water takes away the soreness and heals them quickly. Swish it around your mouth for 20 seconds.

Per Chemocare.com

To help treat/prevent mouth sores…use a soft toothbrush and rinse 3 times a day with 1/2 to 1 tsp baking soda and/or 1/2 to 1 tsp salt mixed with with 8 ounces water.

My routine taking Hydroxyurea is to wet my lips and swirl water in my mouth before taking the capsule. Then take with a full glass of water. It works for me.
