Mild Shampoo

Can anyone suggest a mild shampoo? My scalp felt a bit sore this morning for the first time after shampooing with a blonde shampoo. I used Argan oil on it and it feels better. I have very sensitive skin and now it seems to be more sensitive to products that I have been using in the past. Please advise. Thank you.

Head and shoulders: once you start with this you can’t stop. It took me 2 years to get my scalp back to normal. The reason for dandruff or sensitive skin has to be found and treated.

I have found the Head and Shoulders shampoo beneficial and only use it a couple of times a month when I need it. I must be lucky but I guess everyone is different. Kind regards Aime 😻

I looked on Amazon and phoned tree to tub organic shampoo. It has Argan oil and is for sensitive scalp. It sounds good so I am going to give it a try.

putting olive oil or coconut oily on the scalp over night (towel on pillow!) and wash in the morning is super.

I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo as recommended by my dermatologist.

Winchie in reply tohunter5582

Thats a good suggestion. Maybe I’ll try that. Thank you.

Johnson’s is still made of chemicals. My baby had dermatitis on her scalp. Once I went to organic shampoo that stopped.

I also use baby shampoo and no scalp issues. Gentle enough for a baby, gentle enough for me :)

Eucerin shampoo and aveeno shampoo are 2 that are recommended in the uk, but not sure whether they're available where you are....they don't lather up like other shampoos but still clean your hair...the dermatologist I used to work with used to recommend them...thin another was called Elave or similar. Shampoos like Pantene an Elveve coat your hair, and I know from personal experience that pantene made my head itch majorly x

I was experiencing hair loss due to Hydroxy. Tried Christopher Robin volumizing paste. Looks like brown clay...strange, but what a product leaves scalp very clean, hair needing no conditioner and what volume. Very expensive $53. Can't keep it up, but wish I could.

Hi

I too use Argan Oil as a conditioner.

I use the Australian TEA TREESHAMPOO by. Thursday Plantation.

Be sure to have the water hot to rid all the bad grime off. If you can get rain water that makes soft liquid water.

I can go 10-14 days.

It brings my hair up soft with soft curls and I use a wide teeth comb. And I will pull it in section to vitalise growth.

The pulling down argan oil through it stops drying out. It remains shiny with dark and silver running through it.

You will look and feel good. Also get a cut regularly. A real fresh up.

Stop using blonde products as they will contain harsh ingredients.

Why do you use it? Try solid soap ONLY with organic oil. The rest of the body, nothing only water. The body is naturally prepared to it. I think our disease provoques a lot of insensivities and intolerantes at least in my case. Looking for information, Winchie

I was going to suggest argon oil. I used to (when started peg )dab it on every time itched. Maybe baby shampoo. I use coconut oil as a hair /scalp therapy . I rub it all over put a shower cap on for 30 mins then relax in a bath and wash as normal.

Hi Winchie,

I have recently moved to Scalp Love shampoo, as my hair is visibly thinning. I think it’s due to the meds. I’ve been very pleased with this product.

Hi Winchie l have very sensative scalp and brittle dry hair, l find that washing my hair in baby shampoo has really helped l also wash it regulaly with a conditioner only. My hair and skin goes through regular changes l think this is because of my MPN and the meds of course.Good luck

I was recommended Chāmpo products by a friend who was suffering chemo-related hair loss. It’s ver mild. I use the shampoo and a serum and I’m sure my hair thinning is slowing down. The downside is that it’s expensive but you don’t actually use very much.

Mirror368 profile image
Mirror368 in reply toIsabella1854

What is the serum you use?

Isabella1854 profile image
Isabella1854 in reply toMirror368

it’s Chāmpo Pitta Growth serum. It’s apparently Ayurvedic. My scalp has always been sensitive but since using this it’s still dry but not so itchy. Have a look at their website. II think you can get some products on Amazon but I ordered directly from them in Germany I think. The order took about 4 weeks to arrive but worth the wait .

hi

I hope you find the right thing for you - it might be a matter of trial and error.

I have found using shampoo with no sulphites or silicon is the answer - check the packet - Aveda light moisture is the one I use.

I suffer from sore mouth as well if the toothpaste has SLS in it so use Sensodyne one that has none.

Good luck

there’s one in boots I use for my son he has extremely sensitive scalp it’s only a small bottle and it’s around 10 pound but it’s really good I have tried loads for him and this is the only one I have found to work oilatum it’s in the medical section with creams and bath products for sensitive skin and conditions

thank you, I will be trying different shampoos until I can find one that does not irritate my scalp.

I have extremely sensitive skin. I usually use a honey shampoo and all my body washes, shave cream, etc is unscented. I also recommend switching to the unscented laundry detergent and dryer sheets.

Winchie. What works for me is rubbing coconut oil into hair and scalp , leave for a while then shampoo with coconut shampoo.
