Sounds like you are getting a very thorough evaluation. It is doubtless a relief to see all the negative results.
If you do decide to start on one of the PEGylated Interferons (most use Pegasys) then there will be a bit to learn. I was on PEG for a while before I switched to Besremi. It was very effective and easy to tolerate. I have only had very minor side effects (itching) that are easily managed (Claritin). The injections are very easy to do and essentially painless. I can barely feel them when I self-inject.
When reading about Pegasys, bear in mind that while in common use for ET, its use for ET is off-label. The typical starting dose is 45mcg/weekly compared to 180mcg/weekly for hepatitis. The side effects you will read about are dose-dependant.
Thank-you for update on information hunter I have a new haematologist now has mine is off sick for quite a while when a meet him in October he's ask me to report back my symptoms on weekly basis has he said he only start me on treatment depending on TIA stroke appointment on the 30th November depending on what there say and depending on symptoms if there are getting worse or stable and platelets count which said I will see him around 3rd of December to see how we go but thank-you guys Xx
