Hi veryone, I hope you can help with some advice. I have a small black / blue spot underneath the skin on the top of my foot it is about 3 to 4mm across . Is this a blood clot? Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance to anyone who has experienced this. B

Do I have a blood clot?
hi EmeraldA, you need to get advice from your GP about this, as soon as you can, if it is a blood clot it will need to be dealt with quickly. Best wishes, Maz
Hard to say what this is. In the absence of a reason (injury) for a hematoma, it is something you should check out with your hematologist. Sometimes blood clots will appear like you describe. It could also be a hemorrhagic event like we get with thrombocytosis, particularly when on asprin. I used to get unexplained bruising when my platelets were higher and I was taking aspirin. It could be something really minor, but if it is a new symptom, best to get it checked out.
Hi, just to be safe I would ask the Dr. For an ultrasound in that area. I didn't even know I had a blood clot until my leg started swelling and had 24/7 nonstop pain in my left leg. I asked for ultrasound and a clot was found in my tibial vein. It's hard to say from visible signs.
Thank you afor your advice. I contacted hematology. They said it is not a clot but an outcome from taking asprin. It hasn't changed got an bigger or become swollen or anything like that. B X
