I have been having my white blood cell count going back & court for the last year between 12,000 & 21,000 I have been seeing a himotologist. I have no symptoms, I am not jack-2 positive my spleen is normal. I am going for blood test again in Aug. But my Himo told me if I have any symptoms in the meantime to call him. Could an infection last this long or can it be the 30 cigarettes that I smoke per day ?
Does anyone have something similar ?
Thank you,
Concerned

Hi Tornado, sorry to hear you are having trouble with white blood cell counts. I am not a medic so sorry I can't give you an answer but what I would say is go back to your medics and ask for an explanation and ask what they think is wrong. There is nothing worse than being told something is wrong but no one tells you what. It is an anxious time for you but persevere until you get an answer you are happy with. If you have one of the conditions covered by this forum, you will get tons of support here. Best wishes Aime x
hi tornado I have mpn and have problems with my white cell count unfortunately we are one of the rarest groups within this group but if you wish to chat please pm me michelle
that's not always true and if white cells exculpating like that with infection should really be in hospital and at least on high antibiotics and would have some outside signs of infwection surely?
Tornado, you still sound so anxious. Please insist on getting some answers from your medics, it is amazing the answers you can get if you politely push! Worry on its own does damage to us all - mentally and physically. Take care, best wishes and hugs Aime x
