I'm on a 500mg daily regimen maintenance regimen now (and most likely for life) so would like to know if I should keep up with a daily probiotic capsule?
Have you noticed any difference on or off theses capsules? As they are rather pricey, is there an alternative?

There is definitely benefit to taking probiotics when on HU. HU has antibiotic properties that is thought to have the potential to disrupt the microbiome.
I was on HU for over a year. I did get GI troubles, both constipation and its opposite. I took probiotic when diarrhea showed up, about every couple weeks. It seemed to help but I found it detrimental if I took it for more than a few days.
Yes to probiotics at times . If to expensive how about kefir. It's easy and cheap to make .Saukraut or any fermented stuff is beneficial to microbiome as well
