Combining Hydroxy with Anagrelid

Hi, my husband has ET and recently started taking Anagrelid in combination with Hydroxyurea. We noticed today after the lab test that his white blood cells have jumped to 16.93 and I'm kind of worried. Pls I need a clue thanks

Best thing is to ask the haematologist as they will explain. The same happened to me and they have stayed at a similar level having been low on. hU. But as always our specialists are the best people to interpret and reassure us as to what is normal for us when taking the meds.

We all react to different meds differently. I always keep a copy of my blood tests. I was on anagrelide and hu for a few years. Let your heamo monitor him. I was monitored closely when I started anagrelide. Good luck

Hi! I also have ET and usually high white blood cells. However, after 6-9 months on anagrelide they are in the normal range. So don’t worry too much and wait for a few more blood tests and see if it gets better.
