Tomorrow will be my first Pegasys injection. I realize I may have some flu type symptoms afterwards but wondered if anyone has any advice on the best way to limit the side effects, if any?
Thanks!

Have the acetaminophen ready to go if needed. Some will even take it before the injection. I never bothered with it. Also suggest having some Claritin or other tolerable antihistamine available. It can help with a mild histamine response. Other than that, it is a good idea to be observed for the first injection. While rare, there is a very small risk of a severe reaction. After the first time (observed at hematology office) I never worried about it. I am always alone when I inject. I did choose to inject in early afternoon. That is really just a personal preference. It is also when I know I can get ahold of the nurses at the doc's office if I needed something. These days, I do not really care about that part but have just continued to pattern.
All the best. Happy jabbing!
I had nausea after taking it twice. I took Zofran and that helped.
I took mine and went straight to bed with paracetamol. Just have a bed day🤗💝
How did you get on with your injection
My top advice is water, water, and then more water. The advice on the leaflet I received was 4 litres a day, but at 100 pounds only I never managed that. However, I have found over the 10 months I have been taking Peg, that I have no side effects whatsoever if I manage to get through a couple of litres the day before my injection and the same afterwards on the day. My system soon tells me if I'm lagging behind: dry eyes, dry mouth, dry lips, slight hint of a headache. And of course darker pee.
