Hi can anyone give me any advice please , I’m waitng to start HRT because I’m going through horrendous peri menopause symptoms but need to speak to my haematologist first . Is it safe to have hormone patches or spray when you have a MPN ( unclassified ) because of risk of clotting ? praying it’s ok because I’ve felt terrible for months x

Hi Lizzy19, , I am on HRT patches now as I used to take tablet form but since my diagnosis the Dr suggested patches as they are supposed to be safer with less risk of clotting .. I also take Hydroxy daily and Asprin and so far have had no problems with the HRT at all

I hope this will be of help to you as I know exactly how horrible those symptoms can be 😔

Wishing you the best of luck with it x

Hi yes I did think that patches / spray are supposed to be safer . I’m so pleased it sounds like I can have HRT because that’s causing me far more problems than my MPN .Thank you for replying x

Hi Lizzie, yes I checked with Guys & Claire Harrison said patches ok, I just started 2 weeks ago & night sweats are better already, I have separate progesterone tablets which are bit of a pain as they make me feel sick so hoping to get a combined patch next time, good luck & let us know how you get onMelanie

That’s great news really sounds like it won’t be a problem me having HRT , I can’t wait because I really don't feel like myself at the minute , my anxiety & brain fog has gone through the roof yet it’s something I’ve never ever suffered from . Thank you x

Just to ask ,are you on the Utrogestan pills as I take them off license vaginally because less side effects. along with transdermal sandrena oestradiol gel.

The Utrogestan is body identical, far better than any synthetic progestins

I recently had this problem and was told patches or cream were best as risk of clotting to high on oral hrt.
