At last got results

Platelets gone down slightly from last month . Bit disappointed. Hoped for another huge drop. But I guess slow and steady is better ...

Do you have a list of your PLT counts over time?

Yes I keep them every time I get them in a folder

I've posted before, here is a plot of my PLT on HU for just over a year. You can compare yours, which of course will differ.

It took ~4 months to get to the normal range, with the huge drop only at the start. The 2nd point in late 2020, with no decrease, is before starting HU.

Good to see your graph . Very helpful for me to know you experienced big drop at first to.Did consultant suggest upping meds ? I would be reluctant . Rather wait to see what happens over a few months ..

Appointment on Tuesday.

I'll get my results out and make a graph ...

He started me at 1000. It worked too well. By Apr, the low point on this chart, I was miserable. My HCT also went just below range in Apr. I reduced to 500, with Dr approval, then went to occasional days at 1000 for best balance.

I fully agree with your ideas for patience, let it settle before upping anything, and be ready to reduce if numbers are heading low. We've seen here some Drs want to hammer it, maybe if one is in a bad danger zone, but generally I think not.

Glad I didn't take advice and said I want to start meds just every other day.Would be great to reduce eventually

My WBC has gone from 9 to 5.6 since taking HYDROXICARBAMIDE. Still in range but huge drop...

If your progress is steady and you and Dr agree there is no immediate risk, no increase makes a lot of sense. Also, if you are not having bad reactions, as I did, it seems ok to not decrease right away either.

I've just quit the HU this week and am only on Besremi from now.

I wonder if supplements I take are helping stop reaction, or maybe I wouldn’t have had any ! Not going to risk finding out.

Hope Besremi works well for you.

And thanks for your valued support
