I know Norfolk and Norwich isn’t on list of MPN specialists but when I’ve asked I’ve been assured dr. Angela Collins is . Because she isn’t on list I feel unsure . Does anyone know?
Thanks

Hello Mostew, I think I live in an area near to you. I asked for a second opinion, my GP sent the request and I went to see Professor Claire Harrison at Guy’s Hospital. Hope this helps.Nellin
I live in Norwich and am under Dr Collins. According to her profile on the hospital website she has a "special interest" in MPN's but that isn't the same as being a specialist. And in any case I've only seen her face to face once, the other times I've seen other consultants in the haematology department. I reached the milestone age of 60 fairly recently and asked my GP to refer me to Dr Claire Harrison at Guys Hospital for a 2nd opinion. Her team made several useful recommendations for tests to have done before starting cytoreductive treatment and that alone made it worthwhile making the journey to London. Since then I have had regular phone follow ups with her team alongside the appointments at Norwich and feel much more confident in the treatment and care I'm receiving. The team at Guys are very thorough, and are very happy to offer the 2nd opinion. I do however sense a slight resentment from Norwich that their treatment plan was put under question. I hope that helps, and good luck!
Thanks for above and support Annie
Yes I've felt I shouldn't be asking to see specialist .
Havnt wanted further tests till now... so I'll definitely make sure I see someone

I'm under Dr Collins and Dr lawes at the N&N and they are both excellent. Although since covid hit I haven't had any face to face appointments. Feel free to private message me if you want.
