Hi! Does anyone know if Pegasys remains stable and biologically active if you divide the contents of a single syringe into two doses (by drawing off half of it into a new empty syringe). The question is - does interferon stay stable despite contact with oxygen and remains usable within one week?

I repackage a vial of pegasys into 3 syringes of 60 mcg each so there is no exposure to air. I do not know how it could be done splitting a syringe.
I would also like to know the answer to your question . I have always been on 45 mg of Pegasus and hate throwing away half the dose each time.Could pressure be put in the manufacturers to make a 45mg syringe?
It is stable enough. I use one 180mcg syringe for three injections by changing the needle every time and disposing of a drop of Pegasys after the first two injections. I'm injecting every 10 days. I've been doing this for the past two years. It's working fine, no issues. I did not notice any degradation in its effectiveness. I'm paying for my meds by myself and can't afford to throw them into the trash. It's not medical advice!
I am taking the half vial each time and feel guilty of throwing the rest half even I have insurance covered.
