Basically Edinburgh Western, the hospital that has treated me for over 30 years, has fantastic new haematology in patient and day bed wards. It appears to have been financed by a £12.3 million donation from a former patient's family. Certainly the old ward was very cramped and uncomfortable for patients and the staff went to heroic levels to cope with the different demands of immunocompromised patients and their treatments in out of date surroundings.
A good news story amongst all the other gloom.

Greetings Lorna from freezing Edinburgh. A lovely day today but yesterday huge snowflakes but didn't lie as it had been so wet earlier.
Awesome is the word for it. I'd heard it was being built - our clinics are actually held in another part of the hospital - but had no idea it was down to someone's incredible generosity. We're very lucky.
