I hope everyone is keeping well. I have a question about muscle twitching. Is this a symptom of ET? I used to think it was because I run but I cant run at the mo as I broke my wrist. I take magnesium daily just ran out last week so maybe it is just that but I wanted to check what other people's experiences are here. Thanks in advance! Bx

I have not heard of muscle twitching related to ET. I did experience it once, but it was a medication aside effect to Reglan. Suggest checking your meds to see if any mention extrapyramidal side effects (EPS).
Hi Hunter, I thought I had seen something on here about it before but cant find it now. Will have another dig. Good idea to check meds. I take asprin and some supplements. Thank you B X
Something like this may be what you remember seeing - "Twitches, tremors and muscle cramps are signs of magnesium deficiency. In worst case scenarios, deficiency may even cause seizures or convulsions" healthline.com/nutrition/ma...
There have been some conversations about magnesium deficiency related to muscle issues as some of us have experience d it. I do experience magnesium deficiency as a side effect of long-term use of Nexium.
A few have mentioned a potential link to hydroxyurea and magnesium deficiency. There is some evidence in the literature, but I am not really sure how strong the link is. Maybe some of the others on the forum have looked more at this.
You might want to consider a nutritional evaluation to look at your magnesium, iron, Vitamin B/folate etc.
Me too and great idea will do! It's funny I had a twitching eyelid on and off for about 2 years before I was diagnosed with ET. The odd twitch in one thigh coming up to diagnosis. Then once diagnosed at the start I was twitching like crazy all over. So that could have been stress related. I started taking Magnesium and everything really kind of more or less stopped and I just get the odd twitch now. Maybe more twitching when at rest after exercise. So maybe it's a combination of stress and lack of magnesium. Will look into Folate, iron and vit B. Hope all is well with you Hunter? BX
