Eythryromelagia and more subtle microvascular events can occur in the extremities causing swelling due to ET. Edema can result from kidney issues or some medications like hydroxyurea. If what you are experiencing is edema, regardless of the cause it is something you need to follow up on.

Hope you get answers soon.

Are you on Hydroxy? As this can cause feelings of fullness after little food, it’s one of the listed side effects.

Yes, I experience bloating after meals , on the left side of abdomen . As you say not painful but extremely uncomfortable. I have cut down a lot on what goes on my plate, which helps. I’m on Hydroxy so put it down to another side effect..

Is the sensation at the bottom of your left rib cage? The Dr should be checking you carefully there for enlarged spleen. It is a classic MPN symptom separate from HU worth considering. You might also get an ultra sound to look closer. I've had pain there predating MPN Dx but Dr says it's gas and ultrasound was normal.

Thanks for your suggestion ETguy. As you know actually getting to see our Haematologists is impossible at the moment. I did mention this to her over a year ago and she examined me and I had a Scan then and all was well. It doesn’t bother me all the time and when just below the ribs, it then moves down the left side till it reaches the lower quadrant. I might have some Splenomegaly but don’t think it’s much. Will ask about it if it gets worse. Bloods are all normal at last count. Thanks for your input. Fran

I'm in the US. I find this forum is a small window into our respective health systems. In the US if you have good insurance or Medicare for over 65's, you have decent access to specialists if you're near a metropolitan area. It doesn't solve the problem of finding a well matched one however.

If you've been checked for spleen Hunter's comments seem well worth asking your Dr about.
