Shooting pains in my stomach

Hi all am just wondering if anyone here gets like stabbing shooting pains in stomach ive been getting them quite alot this week,and in my hands only last for few little seconds but it does hurt bad when it starts getting my bloods done this Friday then haematology telephone appointment on the 21st just want to know is it due to our condition this shooting pains in my stomach.thankuXx

The inflammation caused by dysregulation of the JAK-STAT pathway can cause GI issues amongst other things. Sharp shooting abdominal pain could be any of a number of things that inflammation would exacerbate. I would note that stomach pain can be an adverse effect when taking aspirin. There are other meds that can cause this as well.

I would be sure to review this with your MPN care team.

I had this with diverticula disease. I would recommend talking to your GP as it sounds as if it needs checking out. IBS can also cause such things. In addition there are the considerations raised by Hunter so make sure the medics know about it.

Once again Hunter comes through with a fab reply. Hope you get sorted soon.A previous post mentions ‘kefir ‘ maybe it could be of use to you. I’ve never heard of it until now but I’m going to enquire about it.

Sorry you are having problems. Sounds like you should discuss this with your treating team. Pains in the area of the stomach may not actually be the stomach and may or not involve your mpn. Like the others have said, best to get it checked out. Best to you.

Thankyou guys for replying back I did speak with my doctors over the phone treating me with antibiotics for a bladder & kidney infection but on antibiotics for 4 days now got course for 7 days but am still getting rib pains i get lower stomach pains comes and goes plus still I get electric shooting pains in my stomach still and hands not has bad bit still there when comes on still hurts and my stomach now feels bloated but I don't know if that's due to antibiotics am on think going try get back intouch with doctors again has the rib pain comes on I have to counch down bit has it hurts il get intouch with doctors again has I finish antibiotics Thursday night so been over couple days been on them now .thanku again everyone so nice hope all is well Xx

The doctors are treating me with gastrointestinal tablets ruled other things out do trying these tablets to see will help with the bloating and pains in my stomach hopefully well help. Thanks xx
