Went to my appointment yesterday never got started on any medication for my ET MF, my bloods haven't changed much from last appointment so doc said there is no specific time to start medication. I told her about my pains, sweats , fatigue etc she said my pains might be due to arthritis and not myelofibrosis! I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my thumb joints but not anywhere else as only got xray on my hands even though I had told doctors about back knees and feet ! Should I have been put on medication? Is it safe just to wait till my condition worsens? Haematologist also said I am not anemic so does that mean I shouldn't have fatigue? !

As we are all patients we can't say whether you should have been put on medication but I'm surprised that you haven't. Fatigue is part of MF sadly and mine doesn't vary much with my haemoglobin levels, apart from finding it harder to walk uphill.
The concern is your symptoms, perhaps your GP could help with stronger painkillers?
I am not sure why you would not have been started on medication for MF. Perhaps a second opinion is in order. I would be sure it is with a MPN Specialist. mpnforum.com/list-hem./
Regarding symptomatic treatment for arthritis pain, there are some things that can really help. Do note that MPNs are at the core inflammatory disorders. We are more prone to all sorts of inflammatory problems. Dealing with systemic inflammation is helpful in a variety of ways. I have had the most success with curcumin for arthritis pain/inflammation. This was recommended by my rheumatologist. It works better than any NSAID I every took.
There is some support in the literature by Dr, Angela Fleischman for the use of N-Acetylcysteine for treating for inflammation. I use L-Glutathione as an alternative.
Do note that things that are anti-inflammatory tend to have some degree of blood-thinning. Many Western docs are not familiar with the use of complementary health interventions like these. That i why I consult with an Integrative Medicine Specialist. I also let y entire team know about everything I take.
You may not be anemic, but you can certainly encounter fatigue. It is the most common MPN constitutional symptom. Some people find relief from meds, but these meds can also cause fatigue.
Hope you find answers and relief soon.
indy22, I agree with Hunter to seek a MPN Specialist from the source he has provided as soon as possible. Your dealing with a progressive condition with stages that are critical to identify for your best treatment. High absorption Curcumin will alleviate the sweats as it is a JAK2 and STAT inhibitor. Another source of relief for arthritis is boron, search on "boron arthritis" for more info. Make the MPN Specialist your first order of business tomorrow.
