Hi Wyebird, , I thought you were right at 1 a day as I take a combined calcium / vit d tab daily and was told to top up with an additional vit d every few days instead of 2 calcium tabs as prescribed. I was told this by my Rheumatologist . What strength is your tablet please. My combined is 10 micrograms or 400iu and my top up is 12.5 ug (might be a symbol not a 'u') whatever that means. I know you can take too much if not careful.

It’s INVITA D3 50,000 . One a week. I have had to have them prescribed. I take for 6 weeks then have a 4 week break before having a blood test.

OK Thanks , , that's interesting maybe it's a higher dose boost to set you off and may change after your blood test or beyond. I'm always curious about differing dosage as I wonder if mine is correct. I will look that up as I think vit d is important to our wellbeing especially in our climate and the fact I need to cover up in the sunshine. Chris

It’s because I was so low. Prescription only then I will go onto over the counter. Good luck

Hi Wyebird,Fyi I did this 6 week course of high dose vitamin D a couple of years ago and the results were transformational in terms of energy gain and reduced fatigue. I hope you gain as much as I did. Good luck!

The results after 2 weeks are unbelievable. I’ve gone from wanting to die to wanting to do 1/2 mile swim every day!!!! That’s two doses next 4 weeks- Bring it on 😀😀

Hello wyebird - I remember being put on a high dose (soz can’t remember the exact dose) for 4 weeks, then I was to stop but was ‘high dosed’ again 6 months later when the counts ‘hit the floor’ again - I’m now on a prescription invita D3 maintenance dose of 800 iu per day - that keeps my levels steady + was an absolute game changer for me - far less fatigued. Hope it works for you. Anne-Marie x

Hi Anne-Marie,To keep my numbers steady at about 75, I take 40,000IUs a week and 60,000IUs once a month. That is, Ive been at about 6,000IUs daily for 3 years now.
