Et and jak pos, for 12 years.Had vaccine, today sore arm, and temp, took paracetamol, only mild side effects. So happy looking forward to getting a bit of normality back. I had a meeting with manager in work and a risk assesment done, i work in a NHS hospital, so i can't see any patients that have not had a covid test during there stay in hospital, which am happy about. My manager has put my shifts in work to start on the 1st of April, i have said am not coming back till 3 weeks after my vaccine,so the vaccine is in full effect, i know we don't know how much protection we will have. Am just waiting now to get a response from work, has anybody else worried about going back to work, i just hope they give me the few weeks so i feel safer.

Im happy that you have had your second vaccine. Ive just had my second vaccine and also work in the NHS. In scotland, people are still sheilding up to 26th April. I can relate to all your worries but hopefully your work and occ health have got as much in place to keep you as safe as possible and if there are things you are uncomfortable with in you work environment dont hesitate and speak to your manager.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on back at work.

Take care

I have already had the 2 vaccines so I am also returning to work on the 1st April. I am ET jak2 positive on aspirin only. I work for the NHS too my manager has said after reading the end of shielding letter she is going to put me in a non patient facing role ie making appts, phoning pts. etc. Hope you get the 3 weeks off and feel safe soon.

Just wondering if anyone with an MPN has been offered an antibody/T Cell/ Immune response test by their GP/ Hospital Team ? That is really the only way to know if we have generated an immune response or not. Although it was a small study and all the usual caveats, it was still concerning that such low percentages of people with blood cancer had any immune response. How do we know as we return to the workplace if we actually have any protection or not ? Answers needed.

Part of the immune response is an increase in temperature. Paracetamol reduces this response.

I would rather have the temperature and let my body make the best immune response possible to the vaccination.

What are a few aches and pains compared to the relief of having protection from Covid-19?
