In light of the recent and as-yet-unproven link between the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine and the development of thrombosis, can we proceed with accepting this vaccine, the use of which has now been suspended in Ireland, Iceland and a number of European countries.
I've lost two livers to thrombotic events and am terrified of taking this vaccine but fear I might not have an option....

It does seem an over-reaction. Its already been said that the incident of thrombotic events is actually less in vaccinated people than you might expect in the general population.
Sorry - i dont mean you are over reacting i mean the governments who have suspended it.
No, I know you're not referring to my overreaction It has to be investigated as your first statement is just one side of the investigation...statisticians and epidemiologists must provide their input on this..😉
I agree, however i am still not convinced its not political. There have been reports of deaths in the EU following receiving the Pfizer vaccine however as the EU regulator turned around and said nothing to worry about, they continued without pause.
Seems the approach was very different then, and they were happy to adopt the approach of beneift outweighing risk and didnt stop the program while investigations took place.
My question is why are they so quick to put the brakes on this yet there was no question of pausing while this was investigated?
I agree entirely with Paul on this. Without having the Covid jab you would still expect this to happen in the general population,it just appears that unfortunately some are linking it to the vaccine. It as only been suspended temporary as a precaution. I can only say when I heard the news I was unconcerned and thats off someone who was reluctant to have the vaccine in the beginning and who as had 2 strokes. Another thing that i'm slightly suspicious of is that Eu countries in general were reluctant to use the Astra-Zeneca in the beginning until they'd seen the success of the roll-out in the UK and some of there countries leaders were being condemmed for being to slow on the uptake to vaccinate there own population then they started to roll it out. I hope this is not some countries playing politics on the back of the UK's success. Tina.🤗
Thanks for the reply...👌🏻🤗I really dont think this latest decision is about politics...other countries outside EU have also temporarily suspended its use pending further studies...
The only response I can make is that when it is time for my 2nd jab I can honestly say I will have no concerns whatsoever as i've said the the cases reported of bloodclots would have been expected in the general population as a whole. I can honestly say that even if their is a small chance I was to catch Covid I would feel more reassured I would have a less of a chance ending up in hospital. As someone who as been in intensive care with breathing problems struggling to breath I will take what the experts in the Uk and also what WHO say about the safety of the vaccine, as the way I see it if I caught Covid it more than likely would be life threatening to me anyway. This as individuals is the choice we have make on our own personal circumstances. Atb, Tina.🤗
Almost exactly the same situation as yourself, Tico, also waiting for my 2nd jab, deformed chest affecting breathing capacity. I have a serious skull injury waiting for proper diagnosis ASAP, silly little inconsequential side effects would be the last thing I would be worrying about, I have made my choice astra zeneca and back UK and WHO in doing so!👍👍
I see Italy and France are to resume Covid vaccinations after Italy admitted political pressure was put on them by France and Germany. This as a lot to do with Brexit and the EU being a poor second to the UK in the roll out of the vaccince. EU leaders should hang their heads in shame as this as further delayed the roll out. I hope people at least feel a bit more reassured at least now. Tina.🤗
