Had jab . No need to ask my self if I should or not anymore .
Has anyone one else been given a leaflet AFTER jab which clearly says it should be given BEFORE ? Not a problem except they either shouldn’t give it or rectify mistake . Also timescale of next jab not up to date on leaflet .
I suppose it’s all rushed but that’s how mistakes happen .......
no side effects yet . Not particularly expecting any . Long term side effects unknown .

Hi Mostew, , guess it's a relief once the needle has gone in and no turning back esp if one is unsure , fence sitting, apprehensive etc. It's a step into the unknown for us all in a way. But may become an annual event I fear. If I don't get a leaflet before my jab on Saturday I shall ask for it to be sure.
Hope you don't experience any unwanted effect, short or long term.

I think you can download the leaflets on the nhs covid vaccine page, I saw them earlier when having a look.

I was given the Oxford vaccine but given a Pfizer side effects leaflet. They said the side effects are similar.
Better than nothing I guess but ought to be the correct one !

The leaflets are a bit confusing! I refused my ‘after’ one as the cover looked almost identical to the before version I’d been given on arrival but the nurse was clued up and explained the difference, so I took it.
Had to read them both back at home anyway, as with a mask on my glasses were too steamed up to read while at the clinic..! 😂
I was given my leaflet while queuing something to read before jab, as I could not have the Pfizer one the day before, after I had my jab they gave me a card stating that I had the AstraZeneca one and date, and it could be eight to twelve weeks before the second jab, and to make sure I carried the card with me, not that I am going out and about. 🤪

Yes I did have to wait fifteen minutes afterwards in another room.No reaction , but next day felt a bit off, and in forty eight hours was back to normal.

Ha! I had mine on Sunday, and the leaflet was shoved into my hands roughly 2 seconds before I was plonked in a chair and vaccinated. I was literally in and out of the building in less than 5 minutes. Very happy with the military-like organisation, but definitely no time to read the leaflet! 😁How’s your dead arm feeling?

Nope... they said if I was driving myself I’d need to wait, but as my husband was waiting outside, I could leave straight away.
They didn't follow the correct procedure, you are supposed to wait in case you have a reaction to it. It makes you wonder if they're getting sloppy now just to get as many people as possible vaccinated and the orders have come from 'above'. For someone who is already hestitant this dosen't help matters. Do you mind if I ask where you had it done? Gp or vaccination centre? Tina.🤗
It was done at a vaccination centre, but please see Pauls answer below 🙂
PS. My GP sent me out an information leaflet, questionnaire and consent form a week before the vaccine, so I felt I was armed with plenty of information. This also helped speed me through the system.
Where I went they made sure you went into a room and wait the full 15 minutes. They put a sticker on the arm of our coats with the time for when your 15 minutes was up.There was someone in the room checking everyone and told them when they could leave

I had the Pfizer Vaccine. All I had was a pain in my arm where I had the vaccine. It only lasted a few hours. I have more pain in my arm when I have the flu vaccine
Hi, Which vaccine did you have? From what i understand is the Pfizer one requires 15 minutes but the AZ one doesnt.

Apparantly the guidance on the 15 minutes is from Pfizer, due to the allergic reactions that occured.
I think some GP's/centres and asking for 15 mins on the AZ one ONLY if you are driving.
The guidance i think from the NHS is you 'may' have to wait, as i guess when they invite you they dont know which one you will be having until you have booked.
Hi - I think it's of the vaccines -I was told to wait in my car 15 mins post jab & sound the horn continually for help to come! The wait is for any severe allergic reaction to kick in & get treated - not much good if you're driving home... At least we are all ok so far - fingers crossed. Roll on Spring & longer days - sat outside with a bevvy or 2!!

My surgery sent me the leaflet electronically the day before. Did they ask you questions before? I had the Oxford one and feel terrible today but I am still glad I had it
I had the AZ one last Thursday, was asked a few questions before the jab & given leaflet after. As I was driving I was given a choice of waiting 15 mins in the waiting room or in my car before driving.
