Hello all I'm new here with a couple of significant health worries. I have be sent to a hematologist with elevated white blood count 12.5 and high eosinophils 2 that have been high for about four years as a previous blood test 2016 said they were raised but no action was taken. The consultant hematologist was very non committal and didn't seem bothered over a telephone consultation (waited 3 months) and suggested a drug reaction (Omaprezole) but has requested a whole body CT scan and new FBC and a test for PDGFRA mutation. I have no other symptoms. This is all going very slowly and I have an additional requirement for Aortic Valve replacement surgery and am terrified that this will not be able to happen with a MPD or other blood disorder. Any advice greatly welcomed.

The only bit I can comment on is facing heart surgery. Make sure your haematologist is on board with advice and instructions on how to manage your blood condition prior to the operation. This is essential. I hope all goes well for you.
I have been told that my consistently high eosinophils (over decades) is because of my allergicy profile - asthma and atopic eczema. So if that fits with you too it could be that. Good luck.
