Monocytes and PVC

Monocytes have increased through this year from zero to now 1817/mm3: I have PVC, on Hydrea 2x daily, no idea why this has happened, nor has doc. Anyone have any info on this? My RBCs are well controlled but leucocytes fairly high. I have no infection. Am I moving on to Leukaemia? See haemo in February, but could ask for earlier if necessary. Much itching!

We chatted on the other thread - but saw the reference to leukemic progression. Short version is I doubt it. Long answer is - go see a MPN Specialist for a better answer about what is going on. Do whatever it takes to get the care you need/deserve. The itch symptom can be dealt with if you get the care you need. Personally, I HATE chronic itching. Glad I found something that works for me.

All the best

Nobody understands the itching unless they have experienced it. I am so glad you have yours under control. Good you think it is not progress to leukaemia. I will take the necessary steps. Thanks a lot for your help and very best wishes.

Hi Lucieboo, no one on this forum can answer your question: am I moving to leukaemia.

This is a medical question that only your haematologist can answer for you. Hunter's reply is only his opinion, and I agree with his advice that you must get advice from your haematologist and I see that on a another post you have asked about haematologists in France and that you are not due to see your current haematologist until Feb next year. I think it would benefit you to see your haematologist before then as you are clearly very worried about your current situation.

Best wishes, Maz

Hello Inca

Hope you are doing OK. It does seem to be agreed that I would be better on Ruxo. I'll have to see the haemo. and get dome advice.

All the very best.
