«We are relieved that the ICC ruling compensates AOP Orphan now for the delay in getting BESREMi® approved in the European Union, and the delay in bringing this important medication to the patients suffering from polycythaemia vera, a rare and chronic disease of the blood building cells", explains Dr. Rudolf Widmann, Chief Therapeutics Officer, Member of the Board and founder of AOP Orphan »

Wondering if anybody on this forum is taking Besremi? Is it an affordable drug?
Besremi appears to have replaced Peg here in Germany. And is widely used
Hi Dovme,
Are you sure it’s widely used in Germany ? I’ve read that only 4% of PV patients get interferon in this country . I wonder how many of these 4 % get Besremi .
Hi Manouche
I joined a German MPN forum- Just adding that my German is not great. The forum is set up a little differently to this one . It tends to be organized under headings. Mine is ET so most people are on HU. The PV sub group has many on Basremi there is also a medication subgroup ( members list there meds on all postings) some appear to have been on besremi since late 2019. From my understanding It appears the switch to besremi was happening from Peg. I was surprised as l have not seen anyone on our forum on besremi. However l just read a recent post from a moderator that raises some doubts about Besremi and its future applications in Germany lots of references to federal committee meetings which include patient representatives on medications. If you speak German l can copy and paste it to you as a dm. I am seeing my haematologist in the next few weeks and hopefully visiting a MPN Centre and l will try and find out what’s happening - But you may be aware in Germany we are going into lockdown on Monday so not too sure what’s happening with my visits
