When I was diagnosed JAK2 positive ET 5 years ago I started on 1 Aspirin daily and 4 Hydrea a week (now on 21 H a week but still feeling well). I found that I would "fall to the ground" for no apparent reason. So was taken off this and put on Clopydogrel. All ok now. I think that as I have Menieres Disease too, the Aspirin was reacting to the meds for that but it seems common to start off with Aspirin. Hope you're feeling well. Jenny B!
I went on Clopidogrel for a while but my periods stopped and when I was having blood tests it was really clotting - turns out I am insensitive to it which is why I went back to aspirin. This heat in the UK isnt helping either as my legs swell up but apart from that all is good
Yes aspirin seems to do the jon thankfully. I am avoiding all of the other medications as I am 49 and dont really want to be on them for the rest of my life if I can help it
Hi Windy51. I'm in Sydney. I've been on Hydrea for over a year now. My platelets got up to 1200 but now they're fairly stable around 500, which still isn't in the normal range but my Specialist is OK with that. I was terrified about going on it at first but I can't say I have any side effects I take an Aspirin every 2nd day.
