Sensitive skin?

PV, JAK2+, Pegasys 45 weekly

Anyone ever deal with migrating skin sensitivity? It’s the weirdest thing - over the past several days my skin has gotten crazy sensitive - almost like burn and sometimes the sensation runs internal to my bones too. But a day later the area that hurt is relatively fine and there is a new area that is crazy sensitive- hurts for clothes to rub against even.

Anyone ever deal with anything like this? MPN related even?

Thanks.

Hi JT_Marlin, not had this, sorry, but you should talk to your haematologist about it or your specialist nurse for their advice. Best wishes, Maz

Hi there, just thought I'd let you know that I sometimes get that kind of sensitivity, very irritating. Have done for years - long before I was diagnosed. Have never seen it associated with MPN by anyone. Personally, always thought that it was some kind of irritation of the nerves. Perhaps mention to doc.

Regards, Liz

I do get a different kind of skin sensitivity - eczema. It does not sound like what you are experience. Like lizk1993 suggested this sounds like possible nerve issues. Peripheral neuropathy is one of the possible side effects of hydroxyurea. If you are taking HU or any other medications, do look into the medication side effects. It can be very hard to sort out what is a med side effect, what is the MPN, and what is unrelated. It is one of the reasons it is so important to consult with a MPN-expert doc rather than just a regular hematologist.
