Oh yes, I know only to well. I was driven to hell and back, in fact just to hell, for 3 month. Stabbing painful itching. Head, feet, mainly arms. Tried numerous anti histamine, derma cool, itch relief, you name it, I tried it. Heamatologist has given me Fexofanadine which has greatly reduced the symtoms but for no reason at all, a few times a week at night it starts again mainly on my arms. Ice cubes calm it down a bit. .

Keep your chin up, I know its hard to keep smiling sometimes, but know you are not alone and on here we can have a moan.

I'm just suffering a bout of this at the moment, strangely it only affects my ankles but does drive me a bit nuts, although it does come and go. I've tried anti-histamines as well (and am very good at drinking 2l of water a day for hydration) and although it helps reduce the itch it doesn't completely go away, for me the itching thing is one of the worst parts of having this poxy illness, the post shower all over itch being particularly annoying when it happens too.

I've got my next appointment at Guy's next week and it has been 8 weeks since my last one so maybe it might mean I'm due another venesection, although I'm not symptomatic in other ways at the moment and my last bloods were the best they've been for over a year.

I reduced my itch by around 95% by UVB, initially via a dermatologist and then I bought the machine and do around a minute in the morning, also I find if I do jogging or cycling for 30 minutes or so before shower it helps a lot,

I get the post shower itch but it's controllable for me if I immediately wrap up warm - I make sure all my clothes are ready as soon as I get out of the bathroom

Hi everyone ! At my get together day last week we had a long chat about this problem of itching ..I myself am very lucky and have never had it ,, but a popular cosmetic answer was dry oil spray .. By Avon .. Apparently it does give relief .. Twinkly ..x

Twinkly, tried that, tried Tiana pure coconut oil, aloa vera, nutragena Norwegian hand formula, vasaline intense, you name it I've tried it. It got so bad my skin went like Elephants skin, thick and lumpy. Bedding was a mess when I was scratching in my sleep. Getting a bit better now I am not scratching so much. Ainslie, a UVB box has been suggested, but we are trying different routes first. I thank God that one part of this unwanted visitor has calmed down at last.

Best wishes.
