Shielding in Wales Extended

Hi, just wondered whats everybody’s thoughts on the shielding being extended to August 16th here in Wales! I want to be safe but I’m gutted. Has anyone considered going back to work if precautions aren’t in place?

Hi, I heard this at the beginning of BBC news at one, though I also heard different during the half hour before on Wales coron ovirus update, which I have just checked on P H Wales. Which says

“Revised lockdown arrangements also apply to people in Wales who have been told to ‘shield’ from the virus. They are able to go outside and meet people from another household, provided they keep a two-metre distance.

I understood that on August 16 depending on developments the arrangements may change.

Still I won't be sending my wife out anywhere soon as here in North Wales it's now worse than at the end of March.😷

Oh dear, I would be totally upset, is it all applied to certain cases? I heard of someone who initially had the letter on the first round of despatch and he was told to shield for a year at that time! Will have to see I suppose.

Hi Jenny, yes we’ll have to wait and see. Ive also heard somewhere, maybe on here, that people who received the first letter may not be classed as vulnerable as first thought! So more confusing times ahead. X
