Husband has PV MPN taking Ruxolitinib 15grms twice daily. Great news about Shielders yesterday!!!! not sure now as they are saying anyone with a blood cancer should be very careful and maybe wait for further news. I have been shielding with him. Was so looking forward to going out and having a walk but now not sure.

Shielding with PV
Hi it is all confusing I have PV and my husband has been shielded with me maybe you could give the hospital a ring for some advice we have been going out for a walk at 6 30 am a couple of times a week hope you can find answers in all this situation .
Best wishes Poppy x
I would be cautious about the going out to be honest. At first I was going out every day for a walk as noone was about. Now there are people and cars everywhere so no way to really social distance so I have retreated to my garden only. Its all well and good saying that to shielders but if you look at the admission and infection figures and r rate its still not that safe for us and I am sure they will rise again.
I strongly believe that the government only changed the advice to cover up Cummings' misdemeanours and to kick start the economy. It's no safer than a few days ago... If anything it's less so.
I'd be outdoors at the least busy time (early or late), avoid anything busy and don't touch anything whilst out.
My husband has MF he's on 20mg twice a day on ruxolitanib. He was told at the beginning of lockdown he doesn't have to shield and that all his bloods are in normal range .
Anyhow last week he got a text from NHS telling him to shield 🤔 bit late for shielding now .
We've been going out for walks and no contact with noone.
He's working from home.
So in all its all confusing .
