Living in Europe , I did not know of her at all, but from the article she was quite formidable! Diagnosed with PV over thirty years ago and so active, creative and capable. Sad she is gone and earlier than I would have hoped, makes me wonder about her PV, how it was managed, how it progressed. RIP Phyllis George.

Thanks for sharing. Her sad death has been in the news but I had not realised she had PV for 35 years. RIP Phyllis George x

Having grown up in the US, she was ever present in the media. Very intelligent, tactful and motivating. A positive go getter. I also didn’t know she had PV! She is a beacon of power as a role model for us to keep living fully in every instance! May your sleep be light, dear Phyllis! God bless.

I was diagnosed with PV earlier this year. Though my doctor told me that I have a long life ahead of me, I have been petrified at times. This story helps me to keep things in its proper perspective and that I should be focused on living my best life.

Hi, I was diagnosed in 2013 at age 58 and felt the same. I went through all emotions. I now feel fine and am only on aspirin and occasional phlebotomy. It has given me more purpose in life and a will to stay healthy. I feel lucky and it looks like you are moving the same way.My doctor said that most people live decades after diagnosis. problem on these type of sites is that you do get a lot of people with serious complications. I feel 100% fine except for some priuritis after a shower for a few minutes. Nothing!!!
