I have what is sometimes an excruciating pain in my big toes, that often lasts only a few minutes before going away.
I’m sure I’ve seen a post where someone has given this a medical term but cannot find it
Any ideas what it may be called ?

Could it be gout? I know some of the drugs can crystallise on joints and cause gout? That’s why Allopurinol is often given at same time to help prevent the build up of Uric acid on the bones. That’s what I was told by my haematologist whenever I was first diagnosed. Bruddery
That should have read when I was diagnosed!!
I have had gout, it is agony and lasts for days so this is not gout by the sounds of it.
Sounds like gout to me. Strangely, just before I was diagnosed with ET I had a bout of it in my left ankle, think there might be a link. If it persists see your GP for some meds.
Dont know the name but endured foot pain in that they smarted and stung in short term bouts before I was diagnosed. Three GPs had no idea what it was; said my feet looked good etc. Once diagnosed and on hydroxy, aspirn the smarting never re-occured. I think it's a definite symptom of ET although none of the literature I have read mention this.
