Shielding

I receive a daily email from the government website. To day there is information about shielding and states we can't go out until the end of June. This is horrific.

We in Australia are not currently receiving anything like letters of this sort, as an equivalent for those of us with reduced immunity here in Australia etc...

Please do keep us Posted as to how all of this develops etc...

Hopefully, there might be more to the letter and the advice that you received...

I haven't had a letter but my specialist nurse told me to stay in for 12 weeks! Four down 8 to go. I'm getting a bit stir crazy but I'm lucky that as a pensioner I have no job to worry about and my husband can still go out occasionally for shopping etc. I also have a nice garden, I can see and talk to my neighburs from it, and thanks to technology I can see and talk to family.

For others in different situations it is a lot harder.

It is difficult to imagine but in my letter I was told initially no going out till 2 July so not surprised by end of June. I wonder if this will change if the virus suddenly ups and goes which some say as suspect may only be around for 70 days. I hope you are coping, all this is for our best interest. I am lucky to have a big garden (usually a curse!!) so that is keeping me busy, bet I will be counting the blades of grass by then though. I feel its not so bad at the moment as most in the same boat but then if others are allowed to live a more normal life think it will impact some then. All for our own good though.

We are being told the virus will be around until a vaccine but will hopefully be better managed in the coming months

I am not sure what happens when the 12 weeks are up in the UK. We haven’t received any such advice here in Germany. People just do the best to protect themselves wash hands social distancing avoiding crowds
