Sainsburys Registration

Managed to get through to Sainsburys and answered their automated questions. Had a message left on the landline week last Friday to say that we had been identified as vulnerable and to log in to my account on the email associated with Nectar card. I've logged into my account and it says I haven't been identified as vulnerable, I can't set up a new account as they aren't taking anyone on at the moment. Has anyone else had a message from Sainsburys saying they are identified as vulnerable, but then your account says you've not been identified as vulnerable. They did say it could take 2 or 3 days to activate, but its now been over a week, Hope you are all keeping safe.

Yes, I'm in exactly the same position as you. It's been over a week now since I received a text saying it would take a couple of days to process. I wonder if they're trying to be the 'heros' of the food industry. I signed onto Iceland and within a few days got a slot and my food will be delivered on Tuesday.

Good luck.

Thank you for the update. At least there are others in the same situation.

Yes exactly the same as you, told to try again in 48 hours which I did to no avail.

Thanks for reply. Looks like it is taking them longer to sort out than they are saying. Fortunately we are not desperate for a delivery, but if the delivery slots are 3 or 4 weeks away, as I've seen elsewhere then I need to book fairly soon. Take care.

I had an email from Sainsbury’s saying they had identified me as vulnerable, I was able to set up my account but at first it wouldn’t let me book a delivery slot, a message came up saying delivery was only for the vulnerable!! I tried again a couple of hours later and was able to open the calendar for delivery slots but none are available!! Not sure if this is because I’m not recognised as vulnerable or because they are all full. I check everyday and each newly released slot is full.

I was already an online customer but the message came up that they hadn't identified me as vulnerable. There were no slots for ages, and then suddenly a handful appeared and I got one for 50p. At the moment, I can't get another one that fits in with when I will next need it, so will just have to keep looking. It keeps us occupied! You have to remember to "go to the till" even if you haven't finished your list, otherwise you will lose the slot. It happened to me the first time. Good luck. Stay safe.

I've been an online customer for about 15 years, but that doesn't seem to matter. I understand the vulnerable need propriety, but when sainsbury leave an automated message on landline to say we have been identified as vulnerable and to log into account associated with nectar card and when I do it says I've not been identified as vulnerable. Must be a major time lag. I don't know where any of the supermarkets are doing home delivery as I used to see at least 4 or 5 a day around our area. I doubt I see 3 a week at the moment. Anyway keep trying and keeping safe is the priority.

I had a letter saying i was vulnerable and was able to book a slot for about 4 days after but only half the order arrived - think they are inundated at present and have to satisfy the 1.500,000 first. Since then I looked to book a slot and nothing for 4 weeks. Its a difficult situation all around but I do feel there are people having deliveries who just would prefer not to go to the shops so think perhaps try another delivery company, some say Iceland was a quicker route? Very much try and try at the moment. My one delivery meant we had to go out shopping anyway, went late to a store, I stayed in the car whilst hubby shopped. Even he is in the elderly age group so by rights shouldn't be shopping!

Fortunately at the moment we are ok for about 4 weeks, as that is our major shopping cycle. Obviously have to get fresh stuff every week. We usually do that at local Co-op store. Managed to get all of the weekly stuff last Thursday at the Co-op. They had stuff to clean trolley and only allowed a certain number in store at any one time. Very one acted very sensibly. They had just had a delivery, so timed it right. I was vey impressed.

I completed a form on ‘gov.com, covid19’ and received a reply saying that I hadn’t been identified as extremely vulnerable and to contact my GP or haematologist .

I contacted my specialist nurse who said that she didn’t know about a list but had sent letters out to all of us affected which basically said I am vulnerable, a copy was sent to my GP.

I then contacted my GP who said yes there is a list and that they are waiting for a list from (sorry cannot remember the name) onto which they will add names. I will then get an email from GP and I presume will go onto gov site and start again!!

I hope this is helpful if not please let me know.

I’ve got enough provisions for a month as I had a slot with Tesco which I booked a couple of weeks ago.

I do hope you get sorted with a slot.

I’ll keep you informed of my progress or lack of it 🤗

Thank you for the information. The website is for England. If you live anywhere else in the UK there's a different system - in Wales you have to contact the local authority. Don't know how local authority will manage as they struggled with their normal day to day responsibilities.

Hi mark

I thought I’d let you know that I have finally got a slot at Tesco for May 12!,

I finally received a letter from NHS (gov), reregistered on gov site and within 48 hrs had a box of groceries delivered from gov, then a day later had a text from Tesco telling me that I am extremely vulnerable (surprise, surprise) I then had a reminder from Tesco a few days later to tell me that I am vulnerable and could get a priority slot so went online to book a slot - I got the one for 12th May

Keep safe

Sue

Hi Sue, very pleased you managed to get sorted. Still in limbo land here. Keep hitting brick wall with Sainsbury and Tesco keeping saying no slots. Go to local Co-op once week and so far managed to get everything we need. They are pretty organised- one in and one out. Looked at Morrison's today and they have quite a few slots, so booked one for 12 May. Keep safe. Mark.
