For all the Essential workers

Let’s hope our governments and employers reward all those Essential workers who are often in the lowest paid jobs like Supermarkets, Hospitals, Delivery drivers, Care staff, Warehouse workers, Public transport. Take away restaurant staff and so on. They cannot stay home and are daily at risk

I think as a society we need to thank them

Totally agree!

There is a Care home in Sheffield where all the Carers have moved into to protect the vulnerable residents. How amazingly selfless are they.

Yes, most definitely Mel.

How’s things in California and also, how are you ? I saw a news clip about Amazon staff. They were voicing their concerns over Coronavirus safety in the workplace and I thought of you.

Stay as safe as possible.🤞

Hi Mary. I wish I was in California but I'm actually on the east coast in Maryland. There are two confirmed coronavirus cases in my Amazon. I currently am on a three-week leave of absence from work but I shall return next week. There are so many people in Amazon that it is hard to keep a six foot distance from people at all times. They are taking people's temps when they arrive at work now. And this week they announced they will be providing us with masks. That's probably the best they can do. How are you doing? Are you required to stay home? ❤

Apologies Mel, I was sure you were in California. I don’t know how I came to that conclusion.

It must be an anxious time for all you workers. I was anxious just going to the supermarket for twenty minutes. It felt like I was dodging bullets.

The implementation of ‘shielding letters’ has been very haphazard here. This has a knock on effect, as it gives you access to online grocery shopping, which to be honest has been pretty haphazard too. Also ‘some’ work places request these letters. If you haven’t got one you won’t get paid. In the MPN community some people have had these letters, others haven’t, I haven’t. My husband has had one, so we now have access to online shopping, which is all I wanted really.

Best wishes to you Mel.

I know what you mean by dodging bullets. I never go to the post office but the other day I had to drop some tax papers off and the next week in the newspaper it said that the front desk post office worker had Coronavirus. 😩I'm glad you got the grocery slots. America is doing so bad with their response to this it is embarrassing. We don't have any of the precautions that you guys get with the letters but from what I'm reading on here the letter are a problem. Please keep safe. ❤

Think the docs and nurses at St Thomas' should make PM promise that or else there might be something other than saline going in his drip!
