Just received a call from my consultant at Guys re my next appt being cancelled. Also discussed the current guidelines with regard to isolation. He said it’s a fast changing situation and being reviewed daily. Said although I am probably at no greater risk than others, to be on the safe side he recommends I isolate for the next ten weeks or until such time as the guidelines are updated. He said this is to protect me and the NHS as this virus is still very new. He has emailed me a letter stating this.
Just to recap I have ET platelets 1450 last test, not on medication and am 48.
Hope this helps a bit with all the uncertainty.xx

I Just read your post with interest. I was diagnosed with JAK2 +ve ET a year ago. I am now 44 years old. No other risk factors. My most recent Platelet count is 675. I am taking a baby aspirin 100 mg every day. I have mild symptoms of pruritus and hands/feet numbness. I am working as a full time interventional Cardiologist in Malaysia.
Just out of curiosity, you mentioned that your platelet count was 1450 and you are not on any medication. Is that based on the recommendation of the Haematologist?
