"immune cell carries a never-before-seen receptor which acts like a grappling hook, latching on to most human cancers, while ignoring healthy cells.
"
In laboratory studies, immune cells equipped with the new receptor were shown to kill lung, skin, blood, colon, breast, bone, prostate, ovarian, kidney and cervical cancer.

It is clearly an important discovery in how our bodies function but there is a lot of work to do to turn it into a treatment for cancer and to assess its safety and efficacy.
More likely to be 5 to 10 years than 2 to 3 years.
Immunotherapies are some of the most promising emerging treatments for all cancers. Marshaling the body's own resources to fight abnormal cells certainly seems more desirable than toxin-based therapies. Don't recall the specifics, but I have seen some clinical trials underway for immunotherapy with different MPNs. This is an emerging treatment option and not likely to be available for some time yet. However, it does give us hope for the future.
I sent this link on to my brother, who is a PhD cancer researcher. Asked for a KISS explanation. Will see what he says.
