I have been diagnosed for about 1 year. My platelet count is pretty stable at approximately 52.9 The doctor is prescribing a baby aspirin daily. The monthly testing includes WBC, Hematocrit, Hemoglobin, RDW, Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, and Abs Neutrophils. These tests all came back and were indicated as varying levels of high. Is some of this expected when a person has JAK2? What do the tests indicate and at what point is there another problem to look for?

What condition do you have? Being JAK2 positive is a feature of different types of MPNs.
Be sure to get clear what form of MPN you are diagnosed with. The JAK2 mutation can be found in Essential Thrombocythemia, Polycythemia Vera, and Myelofibrosis A small percentage can progress to Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. If you are showing elevation of multiple types of blood cells (erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets) then it sounds like Polycythemia, but it is impossible for us to know that. Please get this clear with your doc.
You will also want to find out what your JAK2 Mutant Allele burden is. The short version is that less than 50% has a more favorable course of how the MPN will present.
FYI - I have a JAK2+ PV. Was diagnosed with a MPN over 30 years ago. Still alive and kicking!
