Morning everyone... :D

This is a study from last year. However, it just shows that we should always remain ever optimistic that new and exciting possibilities are always being discovered and or refined... The idea of a 'Cancer Vaccine' is in itself NOT a new idea, but like all science, an idea that has continually gathered new contributors and momentum over a longer period...

This study therefore, builds upon the foundations of many who came before, and no doubt still others who will in time perfect such novel approaches...

Hi Steve, interesting but perhaps not for us - just yet.

Do you or anyone out there know where we can access Shingrix in the uk or in Europe?

I’ve found one source in London but they’re out of stock.

I don’t believe the usual shingles vaccine is very effective, and it’s a live vaccine which I can’t have.

Thanks.

Hey Louise... :-)

I am hopeful that it will be useful in the 'not-to-distant-future'... Fingers crossed... :-)

No, I am not aware of the new Shingles vaccine in the Australian context but I shall see what if anything I can learn...

Best wishes

Steve

With these vaccines is it possible to cure Jak2 patients and Calr patients?? Also if a patent is involved it means that are going to be very expensive??

Interesting read and very hopeful for this vaccine to be approved and available to all of us MPN's. Do we have any information on trials, if they started with or when they will be starting with the trials? Is there any info at all even if trials started in Denmark?

Wishing you well

Hey Lana... :-)

Hope you are doing well...

It is still early days, as I understand things with the Danish Trials for the JAK2 & CALR+ type of vaccine...

The article states that the trials thus far are promising, however, when one reads through the entire article, one finally becomes aware that there is much speculation at work, and unfortunately there is also an ulterior motivation for two (2) of the lead authors who are trying to Patent this vaccine procedure with the use of Peptides/Proteins on JAK2 & CALR...

However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the work does not hold some promise... Only that another Pharmaceutical company has some investment/involvement, and therefore, we should tread carefully, in my view...

The only trials mentioned to date, are the ones they mention in the article, which may have been for Danes only, at that juncture...

Perhaps it might be worth trying to contact the lead authors to learn where they are now up to now, as this article is almost 1 year old... (?)

Best wishes

Steve
