How are you? I don’t see you posting on here very often and have missed you. Katie

I'm not so bad, hope you are ok. I have a lot more trouble with my arthritis than the ET, I had a blip a couple of months ago when my platelets rose from 389 to 589 then dropped back the next month. I am also very anaemic and am on the dreaded iron tablets (again)

I had some new treatment on my knees at the end of December (radio frequency ablation) which I thought was going to make me almost pain free but it didn't work very well and I became very depressed as I have such severe pain I can barely walk, however I am feeling a lot better now, and am hoping for a repeat of the treatment with more success, but the waiting list is very long. Both my knees need replacing but I need to lose more weight, more difficult when you can't move much, and they said my platelets had to have been on a level for at least 6 months, but they occasionally rise for no particular reason, so no chance of surgery yet. I shouldn't complain as so many are a lot worse off than me (doesn't stop me though!)

I’m sorry your knees are so painful. It really prevents so many necessary & also fun activities. I also tell myself I shouldn’t complain and don’t often but others (sternly) tell me we shouldn’t negate the importance of our problems just because others are worse off. But it helps me put things in perspective when I think how much worse things could be. Good luck, I hope you get relief from your pain soon! Katie

Thanks. I have a friend, younger than me at 64, who is in a home with vascular dementia, due to a stroke, and when I go and see her I realise my problems are nothing.
