Hi. Does anyone find that they have the occasional bout of rapid heartbeat.? I’m writing down my symptoms, times and length plus taking photos on drs advice via phone as typically I tend to feel fine by time I get to see a Dr. Felt as if a GP actually understood me and didn’t think it was all made up. Still - 3 weeks before I can get a face to face appointment....
Happy bank holiday weekend everyone.

I’m still waiting on results of genetic testing but my hematologist thinks I’m dealing with ET. I have had an increase in heart palpitations and have had several incidents of increased heart rate just sitting on the couch. My Apple Watch has alerted me to this. I have it set to warn me if heart rate goes over 110 at rest. I’ve also had a few incidents of feeling like my heart thumps in my chest and it actually hurts. Add to this shortness of breath upon the least little bit of exertion. To say I’m concerned is understating.
It happened to me once. I was a passenger on a long car trip. I too recorded it on my I watch. I was frightened. I couldn’t cope with a meal break. I just reclined the seat and tried to relax. I think mine went up to 134. I showed my heamo. He said if it happened again to call an ambulance.
Spent 4 hours in ER today. Resting heart rate all day was between 118 and 130. My toes turned blue so off we went to ER. They didn’t find anything and told me to f/u with cardiologist.
Hi jaqui, Yes I do and it can be quite random and comes and goes. I would say mine is from the medication (currently Peginterferon, though I also experienced it when I was on anagrelide) I did have a full heart check and I scored the highest it can for strength and health, so I have nothing to worry about. I would certainly tell your Doctor about it to rule out any issues there.
Yes Jlah I have had on and off breathlessness for few years now. I have been on hydroxy 8 yrs platelets reachin 900 now think they planning angrelade for me but not sure if to do this Back to heart I am still going through tests I get fast heartbeat I have extra beats and blood pressure keeps goin high Feel sure it is down to me progressing with Et and the hydroxy and have seen lots of peeps on here havin same problem Take Care
Thanks. And to everyone else who relied. Like all symptoms once you know it’s ‘normal’ for the condition they become easier to deal with. My ET has developed to fibrosis but currently hydroxy has brought plstelets under control. Looking to the future and hoping to get a puppy in July. So excited and will post pictures when he is home with me. Jacquie
Had A big problem with this in December. My Apple Watch Alerting me even when I was sitting on the couch doing nothing. I had every heart test they could think of, and they finally decided that I had a strong heart, it was just fast. ER was baffled. Cardiologist Put me on a med to slow it down a bit.
Hemeotologist was concerned and did More testing and they determined I was anemic and low on iron which can make your heart fast.
Exercising for at least 20 minutes a day has brought it done so I have been able to half the heart medication.
