Hi. Just wanted to give an update. Am being closely monitored by cardio now and have been put on diuretics and ace inhibitors, which has helped. Now waiting on the results of various heart scans. Oh, and I was also taken off Anagrelide!
My issues started when one of the doctors increased my Anagrelide dose from four 0.5mg tablets a day to eight 0.5mg tablets a day (this wasn’t done gradually, I just went from four tablets one day to eight the next). From what I’ve read, this seems like a big jump in dose? Especially in someone with existing heart issues (AF and a mild leaky valve). What are people’s thoughts and experiences?
From what i've read people with heart problems should not take anagrelide. It doesn't put much faith in the medical profession! I'd keep an eye on your medications , liaise with cardiologist, as there may not be a need for some meds after the anagrelide has left your body and things settle down. Discuss this with him.
I’ve been on Anagrelide for a few months now. I’ve started to get heart flutters.
When the hospital started me in them I told them how I wanted to start my new tablets. I started one every other day, then one a day. Now I’m on 2 a day. Last month they wanted me to jump to 3 a day I said no, I wanted to get used to 2. When I’m back in April I will be telling them about my heart flutters and taking the tablets what I want to take.
I’ve had E.T & MB for 12 yrs now and my doctors are only starting to listen to me because I’ve put my foot down.
