I am 74, ET Jak2+ and been on Hydrea for 5 years which has affected my nails, both hand and feet. I have managed to stop the finger nails de-laminating with CND varnish but now the big toe nails have mal-formed so much so as to affect my walking. Any others experiencing a similar occurrence? Saw the Haemo yesterday and I am going on to Pegasys, (thank heavens), perhaps I'll have tootsies to be proud of!

Hi Michael, can't help much, but wonder if you could contact your gp and ask to be referred to the chiropody service. In any case, hope they your poor tootsies get sorted soon.
Thanks for this information as it's the first time I've read it on this forum. I'm 73 with ET + Calr on Hydrea for 3 years. I was diagnosed with diabetes last year. I too have deformed toe nails affected my walk and worse still my golf!! My finger nails are fine. My GP referred me to a podiatrist recently who claims there is no solution and puts the condition down to my diabetes. Will bring it up on my next visit to my haemo consultant as I feel it's down to the Hydrea rather than the diabetes.
